The consumption of meat within late medieval castles

چکیده

This contribution presents and interprets the results of analysis fauna relics from Pustý hrad Castle in Zvolen Central Slovakia. The analysed series comes Upper castle, half 13th to 14th centuries. A total 6082 bone fragments weighing about 28 kg were processed. In addition standard quantification methods (MNI, NISP weight), age animals relative quality meat body parts represented also analysed. At same time, considered individual buildings, their location function, thus differences representation species units. Comparisons with analogous collections late medieval castles Hungarian Czech Kingdoms not left out either.
